History and Mythology about Anusuya Devi Temple.

It is believed that no one returns empty handed at the rate of a mother. Mother fills everyone’s bag. Anusuya Devi Temple is an ancient Hindu temple. The mythological beliefs about the temple are said in such a way that the grand temple of the village named Anusuya, settled in this area, attracts everyone towards it. According to the legend that is prevalent about the Anusuya Devi temple, it is said that this place was made by “Atri Muni” as the place of his penance. At this place his wife Anusuya had created a bitch and started living in the same bitch. It is said about Goddess Anasuya that Goddess Anusuya was husband, due to which her fame spread in all the three worlds. Seeing this religion, a feeling of anger and jealousy had arisen in the minds of Goddess Parvati, Lakshmi ji and Goddess Saraswati, due to which all the ladies together decided to test the religion of truth and purity of Goddess Anusuya and her husband Lord Shiva, Wanted to send Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma ji to Anusuya to take the test, but all the three Gods tried their best to convince their goddesses, when the goddesses did not agree, the three gods were compelled to go to the ashram, there all the three gods went to the sage. Taking the form of ashram, he started demanding food at the entrance of the ashram, as soon as Goddess Anusuya started giving food to the sadhus.

If it seems, then all the three sadhus make a condition for accepting food in front of Goddess Anusuya that Goddess Anusya will have to be naked and serve food, only then the monks will take the food. Devi Anusuya gets worried about this and wonders how she can do this. In the end, the goddess remembers her husband by closing her eyes, so that she gets divine vision and the deities present in the guise of sadhus are recognized by the goddess Anusuya.

Then Goddess Anusuya says that whatever sadhus want will definitely be fulfilled, but for this, sadhus will have to take the form of an infant and become their son. Hearing this, all the three gods change into infant form and as a result, mother Anusuya becomes naked and feeds all the three gods, in this way all the three gods start living as the sons of Goddess Anusuya. When the three gods do not reach Devlok even after a long time, Parvati, Lakshmi, Saraswathi become worried and sad and go to Goddess Anusuya to apologize and pray to bring their husbands back to their original form. is | Mother Anusuya, after listening to the prayers of the goddesses, gives her form to all the three gods as a result of forgiveness and since then Anusuya became famous temples in Uttarakhand as “Mother Sati Anusuya”.

According to mythological beliefs, those who chant and perform yagya in this temple get children. According to the same beliefs, at this place Mata Anasuya, on the strength of her tenacity, had forced the ‘Tridev‘ (Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar) to play in the cradle by converting it into an infant. Later, after a lot of penance, the Tridevs were again given their form and then here the three-faced Dattatreya was born. Since then, people come here with the wish of having children. The ‘Dattatreya Temple’ has also been established here. Dr. Pradeep of the priest family of famous temples in Uttarakhand Anasuya temple tells that Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh wanted to test the chastity of mother Anusuya, then they made all three of them as infants.
