The Valley of Flowers with Hemkund Sahib Trek is a scenic national park located in Uttarakhand, India. It is renowned for its stunning meadows, vibrant alpine flowers, and breathtaking landscapes. The valley is nestled in the Western Himalayas and lies in the vicinity of the Nanda Devi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is situated in the Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. It is part of the Garhwal region and is located at an elevation ranging from 3,250 meters (10,660 feet) to 6,750 meters (22,140 feet) above sea level.

The Valley of Flowers trek is a popular adventure activity for nature lovers and hikers alike. It takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand, India.
It begins from the town of Govindghat, which is accessible by road from Joshimath. From Govindghat, you start hiking towards the village of Ghangaria. This initial stretch is a 13-kilometer (8-mile) trek that follows the path along the Pushpawati River. Ghangaria is the base camp for the Valley of Flowers trek.
From Ghangaria, you continue trekking for approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) to reach the entry gate of the Valley of Flowers National Park. The park is 87.5 square kilometers (33.7 square miles) in size and offers breathtaking views of meadows adorned with colorful flowers.
This Trek is considered moderate in terms of difficulty. The initial trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria involves a gradual ascent, and the trail is well-marked. However, the last stretch to the Valley of Flowers entry gate includes some steep sections and can be a bit challenging.
You need to obtain an entry permit from the forest check post in Govindghat. The permit is valid for a specific duration, usually a day or more, and allows you access to the Valley of Flowers National Park.

Detailed Itinerary
for Valley of Flowers with Hemkund Sahib Trek Package
Day 01: Haridwar Dehradun/ Haridwar- Govindghat
Meet up with our driver at Dehradun/Haridwar. Enjoy the views of Haridwar before continuing on to Govindghat. The distance between Haridwar and Govindghat is approximately 292 km. There are many magnificent sites to photograph along the way. You will check into your accommodation and rest after arriving in Govindghat.
02: Govindghat- Pulna- Trek to Ghangria
We will drive to Pulna after breakfast in the morning. We’ll take the road from Govindghat to Pulna. We will begin our walk to Ghangria, which is 9 kilometers from Govindghat, after arriving in Pulna. After around 5 to 6 hours of walking, you will arrive at a tabular land.
03: Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back
We’ll depart Ghangaria early in the morning so you may spend some time in Valley of Flowers, which is located at an elevation of 11,500 feet. You must purchase tickets to access the valley, and once inside, you will find gorgeous little floral plants.
The beauty inside the valley is breathtaking and appears to be ideal. Valley of Flowers frequently resembles a colorful carpet. It is wonderfully surrounded by mountains, trees at a low level, grey and brown soil in the middle, and snow at the top.
However, at the end of the valley, you can see the glacier. Take off your shoes and plunge your feet into the stream that runs down the valley for an unforgettable experience.
In the valley, you may view flowers such as snake foil, dog flower, Himalayan rose, meadow geranium, and many others. After a few hours, we’ll be back in Ghangria.
Day 04: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back
On day 4, you should start hiking early in the morning because there may be sudden cloud cover and rain in the afternoon. By 5 a.m., the horses are ready to ride up to Hemkund Sahib. While hiking, you will come across an incredible waterfall that cascades over the rock sides.
Take frequent rests when trekking because you may experience a decline in oxygen levels. Hemkund Sahib Lake has been frozen for nearly six months, but the aura surrounding it is incredibly serene.
We’ll depart Hemkund in the afternoon and begin our walk back
Day 05: Trek from Ghangaria to Pulna, drive to Govindghat
After a great breakfast, we will hike back to Ghangaria to Pulna and then drive back to Govind Ghat, full of memories.
Day 06: Govindghat – Haridwar/ Dehradun
In the morning, after breakfast, we will depart from Govindghat to Haridwar/ Dehradun.
