23512 devotees visited Kedarnath temple on the first day

The avalanche of adoration that greeted the opening of Lord Kedarnath’s portals has contributed a fresh chapter to the Chardham Yatra’s history. More than 23 thousand devotees had darshan in Kedarnath Dham on the first day of the doors opening until 4 p.m.

This is the highest number of worshippers ever on the opening day of the festival. The yatris danced on the temple grounds to the beats of army band melodies, drums, and tamasha. A section of the Kedarnath temple complex was totally packed by 4 a.m. On the temple road, there was a long line of devotees waiting to see GMVN. The believers’ joy grew as the moment for the doors to open approached, despite the chilly wind coming from the Himalayas.

Throughout this, the cheers of Bam-Bam Bhole could be heard in Kedarpuri. The devotees’ excitement for Kedar’s darshan grew once the doors opened at 6:25 a.m. on the auspicious moment. By 4 p.m., 23,512 pilgrims had arrived in Kedarnath. On the first day of 2019, nine thousand worshippers had darshan.

Devotees, on the other hand, danced on the temple grounds after the doors were opened to the melodies of the troops. Jagar and Mangal songs were sung by women. Ajendra Ajay, President of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, and BD Singh, CEO, remarked that the devotees who have arrived from throughout the country and overseas have witnessed a true vision of enormous love and devotion to Baba.
