Rajaji Tiger Reserve was formerly called Rajaji National Park India. More than 50 species of mammals, including elephants and tigers, and sloth bears found in the park. At present, the Rajaji Tiger Reserve has 37 tigers in Rajaji national park.  with only two female tigers in its western part of the park, which is spread over 570 square kilometers, it is the second-largest tiger reserve in Uttarakhand State after the Jim Corbett national park.

As per directions of the Tiger Conservative Authority of India, had been together named Raja Ji Tiger Reserve in 1983 Rajaji Tiger Reserve is situated withinside the foothills of the Shivalik Range, and Rajaji National Park is located at a distance of 23 km from Dehradun in Uttarakhand.

History of Rajaji Tiger Reserved, Uttarakhand

Established on 20th April 2015, Raja Ji Tiger Reserve inherited its name from the Rajaji Sanctuary, which was one of the integral units by the amalgamation of which the National Park was The Rajaji National Park was established by the combination of Rajaji Sanctuary, Motichur Sanctuary, and Chilla Range of Pauri Forest Division.

The authority’s prestigious wildlife conservation projects – The Project Elephant and The Project Tiger have now approved. It has been given now the privileges and characteristics of a National Park the Park itself consists of 3 components: Rajaji founded in 1948; Motichur founded in 1936, and Chilla based in 1977.

By Air:

The Nearest and closest airport is Jolly-grant Airport, Dehradun. From here the distance of Rajaji Tiger Reserved is about 35 kilometers from here you can easily go by taxi or car.

By Train:

The Nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway Station (22.9 km). From here visitors can easily go by taxi or car

By Bus

One can travel to Rajaji Tiger Reserved by Government Buses from Dehradun or Delhi directly. As buses are available directly from respective bus stations. The park is located 6 km from Rishikesh, and 9 km from Haridwar.

By Car:
