About Deoria Tal
Deoria Tal alternatively known as ‘Devariya Tal’ is a lake on the Ukhimath-Chopta road, Uttarakhand. Deoria Tal is a majestic beauty to look at as it is amidst the extravagant landscapes and mountains blanketed with snow. Devariya Tal also has mythological stories about it.
History
Deoria Tal or Devariya Tal has a story behind its name, there is a belief that says that gods use to take bath in this lake for this reason this lake is called ‘Devariya Tal’ or ‘Deoria Tal’. It is also the same lake where Yaksha asked questions to the powerful Pandavas.

Devariya Tal Lake
From Sari village, you have to trek for 3 km to reach Deoria Tal. You will see the majestic views of the Garhwal Himalaya range that means you can peak of Chaukhamba, Bandarpunch, Nilkantha, Kedar Range, and Kalanag. Deoria Tal Lake is famous for its 300° panoramic view. Under the brilliant blue sky, you can see the reflection of Chaukhamba peak in the emerald-colored Deoria Tal Lake which is magical to look at.

- Chopta– Chopta is a hill station famous for its captivating meadows and landscape. Chopta is the base camp for the revered Tungnath Temple.
- Tungnath– located in Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3,470 m, Tungnath temple is the highest Lord Shiva temple in the world.

How to access Deoria Tal
· Trek Route
There are two trek route to reach Deoria Tal
- From the base camp that is Sari village, you have to trek approximately 3 km to reach Deoria Tal.
- Another trekking route begins from Ukhimath that passes through the beautiful pasture lands and dense woods. This is a 12 km route.
· By road
One can get a bus to Ukhimath from Dehradun, Rishikesh, or Haridwar conveniently. After reaching Ukhimath you can take a shareable jeep to Sari village.
· By air
Jolly Grant airport is the nearest airport that is in Dehradun. Tourists have to travel by road from here.
