History of Chamoli Uttarakhand:

In ancient time Chamoli district was kept under the area of Dehradun and Saharanpur. But later on, a new district was established by Britishers named as Pauri. On February 1960 Tehsil Chamoli was enhanced to a new district. In 1997 two complete Tehsil and 2 other blocks of Chamoli district was merged into new district- Rudraprayag.
