About Kedarnath

The Kedarnath Temple is the main attraction of the town and Nagar Panchayat of Kedarnath, which is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. The closest bus stop to Kedarnath is in Gaurikund, which has a state bus service to Rishikesh, Dehradun, Kotdwara, and Haridwar. Seasonal variations in bus fares exist. Gaurikund, in the state of Uttarakhand, is the place from where the climb of the Kedarnath temple (Kedarnath Trek) begins. This climb is about 18 km. To get to Kedarnath temple from Gaurikund, there are other horse and palanquin transportation options.
