Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple Mathura complex is a group Of Hindu temples. situated in Mathura Uttar Pradesh, India There are two main temples inside the premises.

  •       Keshav dev Temple which is dedicated to  Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi temple mathura GARBH GRIHA where Krishna is believed to have been born in Dvapar Yuga
  •       Bhag Vata Bhavan where the presiding deities are Radha Krishna.

The place has held religious significance since at least the 7th century BC with findings of religious artifacts in excavation. The temples were destroyed many times throughout history, most recently by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1670. He built the Eidgah mosque there which still Stands. In the 20th century, the new temple complex adjacent to Eidgah mosque was built with financial help from all Regional industrialists.

Ø Ancient and Classical Period

According to Hindu culture, Shree Krishna was born To Devki and Vasudeva in a prison cell where they were confined by his maternal uncle Kansh  The king of Mathura. Due to the settl of his death by the child of Devaki. According to tradition, a temple dedicated to Krishna was built the birthplace by his great-grandson VAJRANBH The present site known as  Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi temple MATHURA (later. ’birthplace of Krishna’) was known as Katra

Ø Medieval Period

 

 In 1016 Mahmud GHAZNI   attacked and plundered Maha Ban.  Al UTBI describes in his Tarikh-ul-Yamini Nabour holy town which is identified by Mathura. He wrote, “In the Centre of the city there was a huge and structured temple, which the people believed wasn’t built by men but by the angels… Any example of the temple, either in words or in pictures, would Fall short and fail to convey its beauty. 

“Mahmud GHAZNI,” wrote, “If anyone Thinking and wishing to construct a building equal to it, he would not be able to do so without spending a thousand million dinars, and the work would occupy two hundred years, even though the most able and experienced workmen were employed. He ordered the burning of all the temples.

Ø Modern Period

 

Mathura came under British control in 1803. The East India Company auctioned the land of Katra and Neares. it was purchased by Raja PATNIMAL a wealthy banker of Katra. Raja Paatnimal wants to develop a temple. but he could not make any temple.  His descendant  Krishna Das was challenged, for the ownership of 12. acre of land on which the shrine and the Shahi Eidgah are situated, in two civil suits by the Muslims of Mathura but the high court of Allahabad ruled in FAVOUR of Raj Krishna Das in both suits in 1935. politician.

Madan Mohan Malviya Acquired the land from Krisan Das in 1944. With the help of our friends and some local industrialists. One of them is Jugal Kishore Birla. the death of Malaviya, Jugal Kishore Birla formed a trust named Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust,  and after that, the Name of the place SHREE KRISHNA JANMABHOOMI SEVA SANSTHAN, in 1951 and acquired the land.

In 1968, the Shree Krishna  Seva Sangh and the Shahi Eidgah committee reached a compromise agreement which granted the temple land to the Trust and the management of the Shahi Eidgah to the Eidgah committee as well no legal claim of the Shree Krishna JANMABHOOMI Seva Sangh on the Shahi Eidgah 

national congress leader Mavlankar was the first chairman of the Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi temple Sangh which signed the compromise agreement and his legal authority to sign an agreement is contested. After that the demolition of Babri mosque in i992. After that, Manohar Lal filed a  petition in the Mathura district court to preserve the status of 1947 for all places of worship.
