MAHASHIV/ MAHADEV/ BHOLENATH
Lord Shiva is a supreme lord and he is a great Ascetic. Shiva is also known by many different names like Shankara, Bholenath, Maheshwara, and Rudra. The Great God’ is one of the principal deities of Hinduism. God Shiva is the controller of “teen lok”(Aakash, Patal,dharti). Along with Brahma and Vishnu, Lord shiva makes the trinity. Lord Shiva Mantra is Om Namah Shivaya by chanting devotees to get free from negative thoughts.
Lord Shiva’s weapons are Trishula, Pashupatra, and Pinaka bow. He is also called Mahakala (Kala) means time. Lord Shiva’s famous festivals are Maha Shivratri, Shravan Kartik Purnima, and Bhairva. Monday is a special day that belongs to Lord Shiva.

- Offer a fresh piece of cloth to Lord Shiva Seat.
- Offer Chandan & Janeu.
- Offer vilva leaves, Dhatura, and offer some fruits, flowers, and sweets to lord shiva.
MAHASHIVRATRI – LORD SHIVA FAMOUS FESTIVAL
Maha Shivaratri is the largest Hindu festival of Lord Shiva. Mahashivratri festival is celebrated every year in honor of Lord Shiva. Mahashivratri is a festival of the union of Shiva and Shakti. According to Shiv Purana, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Shivling. It is celebrated on Falgun Krishna Chaturdashi.
On Mahashivratri night Shiva performs a dance called Tandava. Shiva devotees take fast and do yoga, Jagran, lingam puja. and do Abhishek to gain Shiva Blessings. Mahashivratri is celebrated in different states of India like Uttrakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.
It is an auspicious festival of Lord Shiva which is celebrated by devotees every year. Lord Shiva destroyed the impurities in the human mind. Mahashivratri is celebrated as the anniversary of lord shiva and Goddess Parvati. On these day devotee of lord Shiva celebrate Shiva Parvati’s marriage. Chanting of Maha mrutunjay mantra or Shiva Mantra joins the devotee to shiva’s presence everywhere.
