ROADWAYS DECREASES AMOUNT OF BUSES ON CHARDHAM YATRA

Roadways has stopped the operation of additional buses operating for Chardham Yatra. Now buses will be operated according to the time on the routes of Dhams. Pilgrims had to face trouble due to non-operation of additional buses for the Dhams.

From May 10, a week after the Chardham Yatra started from May 2, the Roadways Headquarters had called for 82 buses from different depots. These buses were being sent to Ek Dham, Do Dham and Char Dham as per the requirement. As the number of passengers increased, 30 roadways buses were operated daily for different dhams. The AGM of Rishikesh depot was made the nodal officer for the operation of these buses.

Due to less number of pilgrims in Chardham Yatra, the roadways administration has returned the buses from the depot for the journey. Now only a few selected buses are standing here. On Friday, buses were sent on the basis of old time table till roadways Badrinath and Sonprayag. In these buses, two buses were sent to Sonprayag and one bus to Badrinath.

Pilgrims going to Kedarnath and Badrinath remained upset due to suspension of operation of additional buses of roadways on Chardham Yatra. He stood in line at the roadways counter in the morning to get tickets, he was told that the roadways headquarters had ordered to stop the operation of buses operating on the Chardham Yatra route.

Harshit Shukla, who came from Lucknow, told that he had come with six companions to visit Kedarnath. When the roadways reached the counter of the bus, information was given about the closure of the bus operation from there. At the same time, Dharmendra Singh, who came from Ajmer district of Rajasthan, told that he reached Rishikesh by train along with his eight family members. On seeking information about the bus from the roadways counter located at ISBT, it was told to stop the operation. Orders have been given to stop the operation of buses operating on the Chardham Yatra route from the Roadways Headquarters in view of the decrease in the number of pilgrims going on the Yatra. According to the old times, buses are being operated for Badrinath and Sonprayag. As orders come from the headquarters, they will be followed
