Good news for Rafting Enthusiast

Rafting in Rishikesh: There is good news for the tourists who are fond of river rafting in the Ganges. After the report of the technical committee, the tourism department has issued permission for rafting in the Ganges.

The adventure of rafting full of adventure and passion on the waves of Ganga has started in the Kaudiyala-Munikireti Eco-Tourism Zone of Ganga. On the first day of the rafting session, about 35 rafts landed in the Ganges, in which two hundred and fifty tourists enjoyed rafting in the Ganges. Rafting in the Ganges is stopped on 30 June every year.
During the monsoon season, rafting activity in the Ganges is stopped on 30th June for safety.
After which rafting is allowed on or after September 1 after the water level in the Ganges is favorable for rafting.
In the first week of September this year, due to rain in the mountainous areas, the water level of the Ganges could not become conducive for rafting. Due to this the rafting session in the Ganges could not start.
The technical committee constituted for river rafting had taken stock of the possibilities of rafting three days ago in the Kaudiyala-Munikireti eco-tourism zone from Marine Drive Rafting Point to Kharasource Munikireti.
The technical committee submitted its report to the District Magistrate and the Tourism Department. After which permission for rafting in Ganga was issued by the tourism department on Friday.
Due to the commencement of Pitra Paksha on Friday, no formal worship was performed for the new rafting season.
Rafting businessmen usually worshiped the Ganges and landed rafts in the Ganges for the new season 2022-23.
Right now, rafting is allowed from Brahmapuri only.
On the first day, about 35 rafts landed in the Ganges from Brahmapuri to Munikireti. About 250 tourists enjoyed rafting. The weather remains favorable for rafting till the month of November.
Rafting businessman Dharmendra Singh Negi said that from now till November the weather remains favorable for rafting. Hence, a good number of tourists are expected to arrive for rafting in the coming days. Right now rafting will be done from Brahmapuri only
The new season of river rafting in Ganga may have started on Saturday. But, now tourists can enjoy rafting only from Brahmapuri.
There are four places for rafting in the Kaudiyala-Munikireti Eco-Tourism Zone.
These include the zones from Marine Drive to Munikireti (24 km), Shivpuri to Munikireti (16 km), Club House to Munikireti (12 km), and Brahmapuri to Munikireti (10 km).
Right now only the green signal has been given to operate the rafting activity between Brahmapuri to Munikireti. Rafting will be allowed from Club House, Shivpuri and Marine Drive after the water level of Ganga recedes.
