Nelong Valley- All about Nelong Valley
The Nelong Valley was a merchant route between India and Tibet, nestled in the Galotri National Park. There used to be a voice of people between India and Tibet. But everything perished in the 1962 war between India and China. Some villagers were killed during the war, but those who survived after the war were forced to go to village Chodana and settled elsewhere. Since this war, peace has prevailed in the Nelong Valley, now the Nelong Valley is occupied by historical armies.
There is always an army gathering on the border of Nelong Valley, which allows tourists to roam only 25 kilometers away from the border. Recently a new virgin lake has been constructed in Nelong Valley, which looks like Chandratal lake in appearance.
But you will not be able to enjoy this victory because the virgin lake is very deep and slightly close to the border of China. There is a beautiful temple of Lala Baba in Nelong Valley, made of huge stone manuscripts. The culture of the local people of Nelong Valley was lost since the war.
How to reach Nelong Valley
The only means of the road to travel to Nelong Valley. Traveling to the Nelong Valley is also a challenge. So if you travel to Nelong Valley then take care. Therefore, if you have to travel here, you will have to bring a written letter from the District Magistrate.
