If you land first in New Delhi from Neemuch, one of the best and easiest way to reach Dehradun from there is to take a bus. The distance between Delhi and Dehradun is approximately 260 km. The two interstate bus stops in New Delhi are Kashmere Gate Bus Terminal and Anand Vihar Bus Terminal that easily provide bus services to Dehradun at regular interval of time. Once you reach in Dehradun, you can take a bus to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, take other bus for Gaurikund. From there, the trekking route starts for Kedarnath temple.

Kedarnath and its nearby area has no railway station. So, to reach out Kedarnath, you have to reach the nearest railway station from there, which is at Rishikesh. The train journey generally takes about 17h 39m to reach from Neemuch to Rishikesh. The train runs three times per week, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

How to travel from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple ?

Finally, when you reach Gaurikund, the total route to trek is 16 km from there. The trek takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, depends on weather conditions and your physical fitness. In case, if you are unable to walk this distance, then the helicopter and pony services are also available there.

Travel tips while trekking/travelling to Kedarnath

  1. Kedarnath area has network issue, so don’t forget to carry BSNL, Vodafone or Reliance jio SIM. One of these will work for sure.
  2. Surely carry aadhar card or any other ID.
  3. Carry some cash in hand. online payment won’t work always.
  4. Oxygen level are low at 3000 meters, so avoid to travel with kids of age below 12.
  5. Don’t forget to carry your light winter wear even if you going during the summer.
  6. Carry medical kit with painkillers, cough syrups and tablets for cold or fever.
  7. Book your hotels in advance, do not trust on last minute bookings because due to heavy rush, there are more chances of getting no booking.
