The travel distance from Mumbai to Kedarnath is 1438 kms and the time travel is 18 hours.

By Air: Indigo, Jet Airways, Air India, and Air Go are the most preferred flights for Mumbai to Kedarnath, the flight will land at Dehradun airport jolly grant, the airport is in Dehradun Uttarakhand.

By Road is 245kms. Dehradun is a common city traveling to hilly areas of Uttarakhand. If you want to travel by road you can book a cab or a bus from the Jolly Grant airport for Dehradun.

Kedarnath is a long trek, that can be made easily by helicopter. The helicopter is the best option to go to Kedarnath if you want to avoid the trek route.

Kedarnath yatra remains open from April till October, the best months to visit Kedarnath are May, June, September, and October.

Currently, there is no train route for Chardham, but in the future trail services will start, and trains will be available till Rudraprayag.

Dehradun is famous for its weather, most people start their journey from Rishikesh or Haridwar, but generally, people stay in Dehradun and then start their journey from there, and if you are planning your trip to Kedarnath from Dehradun, Dehradun is the main destination to start your journey. Dehradun is the best stop for a break, you can stay for one night in Dehradun The distance is 267km, whether you are traveling by flight, train, bus or by your own car, Dehradun or Rishikesh are the main destinations from you have to start your journey for Chardham.

After reaching Gauri kund finally, you can start your trek for Kedarnath Temple. Gaurikund is a base camp for trek to Kedarnath. If you are traveling by your own car, Sonpryag will be the last destination, because parking facilities are available at Sonpryag only. If you are reaching in the evening you can take a break in Gaurikund then next morning you can start your trek for Kedarnath.

Start your trek early in the morning because the trek is an 18km long trek. Trek requires pilgrims to be physically strong. Kedarnath is a religious place, if you are carrying plastic poly bags with you, do not throw plastic bags on the trek route. It is risky for animals, and another reason is plastic releases harmful gases that can easily pollute the climate.
