History of Kuteti Devi Temple:

Do you know there is an interesting story related to the Kuteti Devi Temple? One day Maharaja of Kota was traveling to Gangotri Dham and on that day a bag full of money was lost somewhere during the visit of Gangotri Dham. The king became very upset and Frustrated, the king returned to Uttarkashi and prayed at the Vishwanath temple a Hindu temple in Uttarakhand and he promised that if he gets his bag back.

So, he will marry his daughter to a suitable boy from that village. And after some time, the king’s bag was found by a priest and the priest returned the bag of full money to the king. This made the king extremely happy; he instructed the priest to find a suitable groom to find a boy for his daughter.

The princess got married to the boy decided by the priest but this decision makes the princess unhappy as this decision would take her away from her diety Goddess “Kuteti Devi “and the princess of Maharaja of Kota does not want to leave this place. Currently, The Temple is built at the same place where these precious stones were found by the princess instructed by Goddess Kuteti Devi in their dreams. Both the princess and her husband prayed to the goddess to find a solution to this problem.

After this, the Goddess kuteti appeared in their dreams and talked about making an idol of Goddess on a high mound near the river Indravati. On The Next Day, the princess and her husband reached the place instructed by Kuteti Devi and found three stones in the form of Goddess, so the Kuteti Devi temple has been built at the same place where those three stones were found. So, this was the history behind Kuteti Devi temple.
