About Kedarnath
Kedarnath is a holy Hindu temple of Lord Shiva situated in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state of India. The temple is located near the Mandakini river, with greenery all around and the Himalayas. The shrine of the temple normally opens only during the 6 months of the year (from April to November) and other 6 months, it remains closed (November to March).

Krishnagiri to Kedarnath via Bus
If you are planning to travel the distance by bus, then there is no direct bus from Krishnagiri to Kedarnath. So, you have to first take the bus from Krishnagiri to Madiwala (Bangalore). From Madiwala, take the bus to reach Kempegowda Bus Station. Reach Bangalore Anand Rao Circle, take the bus for Vadodara from there. Then switch the bus for Baroda. After reaching Baroda, take the bus to reach Udaipur. From Udaipur, you will get the bus direct to Haridwar. Once you arrive Haridwar, you will get the bus for Sonprayag easily. The pilgrimage season in Kedarnath is during the Chardham yatra, from the month of April to November. The best time you can visit the temple is from month of May to June or from September to November. The place is crowded and busy despite of the cold weather conditions. During summer, the weather is ideal for visit. During winter, the sub-zero temperature leads to the occurrence of heavy snowfall. During monsoon, the region is prone to floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall, due to which it is not recommended to visit during monsoon.
Tips while travelling or trekking in Kedarnath
- Even if you are travelling during summer, carry some of light weighted winter wear.
- Only BSNL and Jio sim works in the region, due to being a hilly area.
- Make sure to take medical kit, raincoat, extra batteries and your ID, plus some of instant boosters.
- Avoid visit during the monsoon season, mainly due to heavy rainfall the area is prone to floods and landslides.
