Malari situated at an elevation of 3048 meters, is surrounded by snow-covered mountains and lush greenery. Malari village is located near the Indo-Tibetan border near Joshimath 60 km from village in Chamoli District. This area has been declared as world heritage site. During winters it snows heavily in Malari village due to which inhabitants move to other places and wait for the snow to end. They only live in the village during a period of 6 to 7 months i.e., from mid-April to mid-September or the start of October.

Being a hotspot for all photography lovers and nature lovers Malari is still unexplored by many. The warmth of this place is all a traveler needs during his/her stay. By car, you can reach Joshimath and from Joshimath, you can make your way to Malari via Rishikesh or Dehradun both are known cities of Uttarakhand.

By Air:

Nearest airport to Malari, Uttarakhand is Jolly Grant airport, Dehradun which is 332 Km from the village. From there you can book taxi and reach your destination.

 

By train:

Another option to reach Malari village is by train. You can find train stations at Dehradun which is 332 Km from Malari village and you can find another station at Rishikesh which is 314 Km from Malari village and from the station you can book a taxi to reach the destination.
