The story of this Dham of Lord Shiva is very unique. According to the beliefs, the Pandavas built the ancient temple of Kedareshwar Jyotirlinga. Later Adi Shankaracharya got it renovated. The story of this Dham of Lord Bholenath is very unique. It is believed that there is a direct meeting of the devotee and God in Kedarnath. According to mythology, Lord Shiva had seen the Pandavas here and freed them from the sin of killing their clan and guru. At the same time, in the ninth century, Adiguru Shankaracharya also went to heaven physically from this place. It is mentioned in Kedarkhand that if one travels to Badrinath region without seeing Lord Kedarnath, then his journey becomes in vain.

Special things about Kedarnath Dham
According to mythology, Nar and Narayan Rishi, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, performed penance on Kedar Shringa. Pleased with his penance and according to his prayer, Shiva had granted the boon to reside in the form of Jyotirlinga forever.

Apart from this, a story is also prevalent about Kedarnath Dham that Lord Shiva, pleased with the devotion of Pandavas, freed them from fraternity. It is said that on being victorious in the Mahabharata, the Pandavas wanted to get the blessings of Shiva to get rid of the sin of fraternity, but the Lord was angry with them. Pandavas reach Kedar for their darshan. After this Shiva took the form of a bull and went among the other animals.

Then Bhima assumed a gigantic form and spread his feet on two hills. During this all the animals left, but Lord Shiva, who became a bull, was not ready to go from under his feet. After this Bhima forcefully pounced on the bull, but the bull began to concentrate on the ground. Then Bhima grabbed the part of the triangular back of the bull.

By coming here all the wishes are fulfilled.
Kedarnath Dham is the best among the five Peethas established in India. It is believed that just by reaching here the devotees get freedom from all the sins. Also, whoever remembers Kedarnath with a sincere heart, his wishes are fulfilled.
