One of the best Hindu idols Lord Shiva temple is known as Kedarnath temple, which was originally built by the Pandavas later it was built in the 8th century A.D by Guru Adi Shankaracharya. Kedarnath temple walls arranges with certain deities and scenes from mythology.

Kedarnath Temple is one of the most famous journeys for Lord Shiva’s followers. Kedarnath temple is placed near Mandakini river, every year there are thousands of thousands of people visit that place to Darshan Lord Shiva Jyotirlinga. You can easily get there by Helicopter and horse. If you are physically fit, you can walk which is 18kms from Gauri Kund.

A huge statue of the Nandi Bull positioned as a guard outside of the temple Kedarnath door, this monument is dedicated to one of the 12 Jyotirlinga across India for Lord Shiva.

The construction of the Kedarnath Temple is very beautiful. Kedarnath Temple is more than 1 thousand years old. Kedarnath temple was made with very heavy, huge, and gray blocks of stone. Kedarnath Temple reminds phenomenon that how it was constructed very beautifully in the earlier days. Inside the Kedarnath temple, there is jyotirlinga which is one of the 12 unique in the world placed in between the temple as Lord Shiva.

 

 

 

Pooja Performed in Kedarnath Temple:

There is Raval, known as the Kedarnath temple representative, which belongs to the Veerashaiva community from Karnataka. Rawal gives directions to pujaris that how to perform pujas and rituals at Kedarnath Temple. Lord Shiva devotees have the option to perform special pujas at Kedarnath Temple online. There are two types of pujas performed in the temple one is online and you don’t need to be physically there. For other pujas you need to be physically present there. Apart from Lord Shiva, History also said that Guru Shankaracharya took samadhi at Kedarnath Temple.

 

Pujas time table at Kedarnath Temple:

Everyday pujas at Kedarnath Temple start at 4:00 am in the morning with Maha Abhishek of Lord Shiva also known as Jyotirlinga and it will end with an evening prayer called Shyan aarti at around 7:00 pm. Kedarnath Temple opens for people around 6:00 am in the morning and it closes with an evening prayer known as shyan aarti. There is a 2-hour break in between 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

 

 

Kedarnath Temple Opening and Closing Timings:

Rawal and other members of the committee choose the darshan timings of Kedarnath Temple. There is a 2-hour break time during the day around 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Make sure you can plan to visit the temple before 3:00 pm because you are allowed to touch Lord Shiva (Jyotirlinga) and do Abhishek but after a 2-hour break around 5:00 pm you are not permitted to touch and do Abhishek you can only see it with a safe distance.

The management of the Kedarnath Temple protecting the Lord Shiva’s Jyotirlinga is open only between April to November. Rest of the months Kedarnath Temple will close due to heavy snowfall.
