Kedarnath Dham: Heli services to be expanded, preparing to start booking tickets online

Kedarnath Dham Heli services to be expanded
It is being planned to extend the Kedarnath heli services for the upcoming Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. At the same time, preparations are on to start booking tickets for the Kedarnath Heli service online from April 1. For this, the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Authority has sent a proposal for the permission of the Chief Minister.

This time the journey for Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham will start from May. Heli services for Kedarnath Dham are currently operated from Phata, Sirsi, Guptkashi. This time, the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Authority will not have to go through the tender process for heli services. Last year, Kedarnath Heli Services was floated with nine aviation companies for the next three years.

In order to provide better facilities to the pilgrims coming from all over the world on Chardham Yatra, this year, the Heli service is being expanded to start from Gauchar, Chinyalisaur, Pithoragarh. Preparations are being made to start the online booking of Heli tickets from April 1. For this, a proposal has been sent to seek permission from the Chief Minister. On getting approval from CM, devotees coming from the country will get the facility of booking tickets online.

Transparency and security of tickets will be monitored online
Complaints are received regarding the booking of Heli service tickets during the travel season. This time, an online system is being developed by Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Authority for transparency and security monitoring in ticket booking. With this, the heli services operated from Phata, Sirsi, Guptkashi will be monitored directly from the headquarters of the Authority.

Heli service operated late from Kovid last year
The Chardham Yatra was completely affected last year due to the covid epidemic. After the opening of the doors of the four dhams, devotees were not allowed to have darshan. The government had allowed the people of the state to visit Chardham from July 1, 2020. Whereas on 25 July 2020, devotees from outside the state were also conditionally permitted with the Kovid Negative Report of the RTPCR investigation. But Haley services were not allowed. The Kedarnath heli service was operated after October following the Kovid rules.

The process of booking tickets for the Kedarnath Heli service is going on from April 1. A meeting with aviation companies will be held soon to expand heli services. In which it will be decided which aviation company is ready to provide services.
