About Kausani
Kausani is a hill station and a village which is situated in Baleshwar. This village is about 53km away from Almora. And from Delhi Kausani is about 427km away. This is one of the most visited tourist spot in the Uttrakhand Himalayas. When it comes to beautiful and breathtaking Himalayan peak views it is hard to rival the amazing view experience that Kausani offers you. History of Kausani
Kausani was named after a wise sage Kaushik Muni. He used to meditate here. Before India’s Independence in 1929 Mahatma Gandhi Ji visited and stayed here for 14 days and called this place the Switzerland of India. The famous poet Sumitranandan Pant was born in Kausani. At the time of Independence in 1997 Kausani was part of Almora.

As for the monsoon season, it is best to avoid the visit in July to August here during this season there is a high probability of floods and landslides in the rainy season. And if you want to tour here to see the snow then December to February will be the best time to witness Kausani at its best.
