You need to travel around 30 km from Guptkashi to Sonprayag in your vehicle, rent a car, or public buses are also available. From Sonprayag to Gaurikund, you can travel via local taxi for about 6km, then from Gaurikund; there will be an uphill trek of 22km to Kedarnath Temple; it takes 10-12 hours on foot to reach the temple.

Regarding the Kedarnath weather, the temple remains closed for almost 6 months, from November to April, due to heavy snowfall. Even in summer, the temperature becomes freezing.
