Kalpeshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located at an altitude of 2,200m (7,217.8) in the Urgram valley in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state in India. The temple‘s former legend associated to the Pandavas, heroes of the epic Mahabharat, is the fifth temple of the Panch Kedar of Shiva’s anatomical spiritual from the other four temples in the order of their worship are Kedarnath, Rudranath, Tunggnath and Madhyamaheshwar temples all in the Kedar Khand district of the Garhwal, Himalayas.

After Kashi visited Pandavas went to Guptakshi (hidden Kashi) of Garhwal district where Lord Shiva was hiding from them in the avatar of Bull. In the end, the Bhima (the second one of the Pandavas) saw Lord Shiva in the avatar of the bull and grabbed the tail and hind limbs of the bull but the bull disappeared into the ground. After some time the bull reappeared in the different body parts. Pandavas decided and built temples where the parts of the bull have appeared, with the hump region in Kedarnath, the limbs appearing in Tungnath, the face showing up at Rudranath, the nabhi and stomach surface in Madhyamaheshawar, and the hair appearing in Kalpeshawar.
