How powerful is Lord Shiva?

Lord Shiva is supposed to be a definitive power, one can’t quantify his solidarity in any unit. It is said that time is generally strong, so to furnish you with a smidgen of Mahadev’s power we might want to let you know that Shiva himself represents time, he was there when nobody existed and he will be there where one can’t reach. Indeed, even in the sagas like Ramayana and Mahabharata, the underlying storyteller of the tales is Lord Shiva as it were. Below are some major points about Lord Shiva to know about this power and the reason behind it.

1. Lord Shiva is said to be Neelkanth dhari (in Hindi) as he took the poisonous Halahal poison in his throat.

2. Lord Shiva is so powerful that he granted Lord Vishnu boons in all Yugas.

3. Lord Shiva can be said the god of all gods since he held the speed of rushing Ganga and took the river on his head, that’s why he was called Jatadhari (in Hindi).

4. Once Lord Shiva wore the emperor of serpents Vasuki around his neck.

5. Lord Shiva can be said powerful, as we know when he killed the admin of death ‘Yama’ in order to save his ardent devotee ‘Markandeya’.

Different forms of Lord Shiva

It is said to be that Lord Shiva has 19 avatars/ forms. And here in this blog, we have mentioned some of the popular forms of Lord Shiva.

1. Nandi Avtar

The NANDI form of Lord Shiva was born due to Sage Shilada. The saint performed intense austerity to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings and requested a child who would not die. After this incident, Lord Shiva took birth as Nandi, who then became the Guard/ gate-keeper of Kailasha (Lord Shiva’s heaven- KAILASH).

2. Bhairava Avatar

The Bhairava Avatar can be said as one of the major avatars of Lord Shiva. Related to Dandapani, the Bhairava Avatar paddles those who are greedy, unlawful, and obstinate.

3. Veerabhadra Avatar

The Veerabhadra avatar of Lord Shiva is one of his dangerous forms. Lord Shiva took birth as Veerabhadra after his wife Sati’s death. The Veerabhadra form of Lord Shiva killed King Daksha’s Yagya and decollated him for being liable for Sati’s death.

4. Ashwatthama Avatar

Lord Shiva is powerful, we can also get to know them after knowing his Ashwatthama Avtar, as Guru Dronacharya once performed intense austerity to make happy to Lord Shiva. He wanted Lord Shiva to take birth as his son. Therefore, after getting happy with Guru Dronacharya’s devotion, Lord Shiva took birth as Ashwatthama, an unforgettable warrior who played a major role in the Mahabharata.

5. Nataraja form

It is the dance of Lord Shiva through which he is continuously creating and destroying universes called Nataraja and Tandava forms, respectively.
