About Rudraprayag

Rudraprayag is a town and a municipality in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. Rudraprayag is Lord Shiva’s holy abode. It is one of the Panch Prayags of the Alaknanda River. After there, the Alaknanda flows towards Devprayag, where it joins the Bhagirathi River to form the Ganges. Locals believe that it was here that Lord Shiva appeared to Narada in his Rudra manifestation. Another legend claims that this is the same location where Sati reincarnated following her sad death. As a result, this location is regarded a sacred site in Uttarakhand, with many visitors and pilgrims passing through on their way to the Char Dham Yatra.
