About Badrinath
Badrinath is one of India’s four most prominent Char Dham pilgrimage destinations. At an average elevation of 10,827 feet above sea level, Badrinath is pleasantly ensconced on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
The town gets its name from Badrinath’s sacred temple, which is devoted to Lord Vishnu, the preserver. Badrinath is one of the Garhwal region’s five Badri (Lord Vishnu) temples.
