About Govind National Park
Govind National Park located in Uttarkashi district, Garhwal region in the Northern state Uttarakhand, India. Govind National park is also known as Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. In Its Initial Years It was set up as Wildlife Sanctuary and in the year 1955, It was set up as National Park.
Govind National Park lies around 4,593 to 20,744 feet above sea level. Govind Pashu Vihar National Park got its name after Govind Ballabh Pant. Govind National Park is a gateway to many treks. Govind National Park is spread over around 958 sq km in Spuin Range, Uttarkashi District. Govind Pashu National Park houses a variety of Flora and Fauna. It is Managed and Controlled by the State forest department. Naitwar is an entry point to Park. The National Park was created to protect the Endangered Snow Leopard and it was started by the Government of India and named Project Snow Leopard. In the upper region threatened Bearded Vulture also found. Govind National Park/Wildlife Sanctuary is also famous for many treks like-Sankri, Osla, the famous Har Ki Dun, Kedarkantha trek, which lies in the National Park. The last village in National Park is Osla, Its habitats around 200 families. There are so many villages in the Govind National Park/Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see their beautiful houses and culture.

Best Time to Visit the Govind National Park and Wildlife sanctuary-
The best time to visit the Govind National Park is in the Month of April, May, June, September, October, and November. Tourists should avoid visiting National park in the Rainy season because National Park receives high rainfall and snow in Winters.
Flora and Fauna seen in Govind National Park-
The Govind National Park showcases a variety of flora like- Western Himalayan broadleaf forest, Ayurveda herbs, alpine shrubs, pine, deodar cedar, Chinar, silver fir, conifers, and trees like maple, walnut, chestnut, hazel, and rhododendron (Buras). And many medicinal plants.
The Govind National Park houses a variety of animals (Mammals) and birds park-like- Snow Leopard, musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, black bear, wild Boar, Red Panda, In Govind national park birds which can be seen are like- Monal pheasant (Uttarakhand state bird), Bulbul, owls, pigeons, Himalayan snowcock, parakeets, cuckoos, tits and endangered species like the bearded vulture, golden eagle, etc.

Govind Pashu Vihar National Park/Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for wildlife, Trekking. As it is a gateway of so many treks like- Har Ki Dun, Kedarkantha, Sanskari, Borasu Pass, etc. Har Ki Dun forest guest house is very famous because of its location, consist a valley of wildflowers. Rest house of Osla, Taluka, Naitwar en-routes to Har Ki Dun.

Har Ki Dun trek-
Har Ki Dun trek is very famous among trekkers. This trek is within the Govind National Park/Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a mesmerizing trek with a beautiful view. Lies in the Garhwal region, Uttarakhand. In Winters when it is covered with snow it gives mesmerizing view to Swargarohini Peaks. It is also said that Pandavs also take this route to reach Swarga/Heaven. It is around 10-11 km from Osla village.
Ruinsara Tal Trek-
Ruinsara Trek lies at the high Altitude of Garhwal Region, Uttarakhand. This Trek is also passing from Govind Pashu Vihar National Park, Last village Osla. This trek is around 26 km from Osla. This trek is famous for Lake, and its wildflower Orchid.
Borasu Pass Trek-
Borasu Pass Trek leads to Himachal. This trek flows the same route from Govind National Park to Har Ki Dun. It is also said that it was an old trade route for Hai Ki Dun valley to Kinnaur.
Dhumdar Khandi Pass-
Dhumdar Kandi pass is high altitude trek in the Garhwal region. It connects Gangotri and Yamnotri holy pilgrim sites of Hindu. It is also a route followed by Uttarkashi and Gangotri to reach Tons valley.

To Reach Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Wildlife sanctuary takes a bus or cab from Dehradun/Rishikesh to Dharkadhi, it is the nearest village to Govind National Park/ Wildlife Sanctuary 17 km from National Park.
By Rail-
