Two lakh population of the area will be benefited

To reach Yamunotri, vehicles have to pass through a hill called Radi Top, but in winter this hill is completely covered with snow, due to which the traffic is obstructed. Vehicles will not have to go through this hill due to the construction of the tunnel. This will benefit the population of 2 lakh of the area.

Water will be showered inside the tunnel in case of fire
Full arrangements have been made to deal with arson inside the tunnel. In case of fire, water will automatically start raining inside the tunnel and the fans will be turned off. Drivers will also be informed about this through FM. There will also be a system of automatic lighting control inside the tunnel.

Colonel Deepak Patil told that the New Austrian Tunneling Method will be used in the tunnel construction, which is the world-famous method of tunneling. In this, both drilling blasting methods are used to break the rock and the engineers get to know the position of the next soft and hard rock coming inside the tunnel.
