Legend says that the father of Churmal’s parents was Kalsin (Father) & Hyunla (Mother). Kalsin was married to Hyunla when she was very young, Kalsin was a minister in Indra Sabha. Even after Hyunla became an adult still Kalsin was ignoring her and was busy with his work as a minister. Once Hyunla was bathing and a ray of light from the sun coming from a small hole in the wall touched Hyunla and she became pregnant.
Kalsin got to know about her pregnancy and refused that the child was not his knowing that Kalsin’s mother banished her from the house. Hyunla being a lone mother gave birth to the child with so much difficulty. When Churmal got to know about his father he went to the Indra Sabha to meet Kalsin and told him that he is his son, Kalsin refused to accept that but Churmal was persistent, Then Kalsin gave very difficult tasks to Churmal saying if he will be able to complete those tasks, he will accept him as his son. Churmal completed all the difficult tasks, Kalsin was impressed and accepted him as his son.
