In view of the safety of the pilgrims due to the Corona pandemic, the government has banned the Char Dham Yatra.
Despite this, every day 10-15 pilgrims are reaching Barkot to visit Yamunotri Dham.
The pilgrims coming on Yamunotri Dham Yatra are being sent back by police following the instructions given under Covid-19.

Badrinath Dham including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath. On May 14, from the festival of Akshaya Tritiya, the doors of
Yamunotri Dham are open for summer and worship of Mother Yamuna is being done by the pilgrimage priests in Yamunotri Dham.
But, the Char Dham Yatra has been banned due to the Corona pandemic.
Due to which the pilgrims are not able to do the Char Dham Yatra and any travelers who are unknowingly reaching the Char
DhamYatra, are being sent back after being extinguished by the police personnel in view of the security point of view as per the
Covid guide line.Inspector DS Kohli, in-charge of Barkot police station, says that every day some travelers and tourists are
reaching here to visit Yamunotri Dham. On Wednesday also 10-12 people in different teams were going to Yamunotri Dham.
Those who have been stopped by the police on the way. In compliance with the instructions given under Covid 19,
travel has been prohibited in Yamunotri Dham. Passengers and tourists going to Yamunotri are being sent back after
understanding them. Along with this, he has also appealed to the travelers and tourists not to leave their homes for the
Char Dham Yatra till Yamunotri Dham has been banned in view of the security due to Covid-19.
