History

Katyuri dynasty ruled in Didihat. The reigion came under Malla kings of Sirakot. King Raika built the Shirakot temple. Some ancient temples and fort are still present today. In 1947 according to United Provinces Didihat was Tehsil in Almora district. Later in 1960, Didihat tehsil, were transferred to the Pithoragarh.

Didihat lies at 29.97ºN 80.15ºE in Northern India at 1,725 m (5659 ft) above sea level, in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India. Didihat is 54 km far from District Headquarter.
