After the inauguration of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, more than 37 thousand devotees have reached Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham in a span of a week. Tourism businessmen and hoteliers have expressed happiness. After the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on the festival of Akshaya Tritiya on 03rd May, the Chardham Yatra duly started in the state. On the other hand, the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham have also been duly opened for the devotees on Friday. So far, a total of 37,250 pilgrims have visited the Ganga and Yamuna in both the Dhams.
Here till last Wednesday evening, 18302 pilgrims in Gangotri Dham and 18948 in Yamunotri Dham have become part of the darshan of Mother Ganga and Yamuna. The journey of Kedarnath Dham started with enthusiasm. For two years, even though people of the country and abroad could not come to Kedarpuri as expected due to the Corona period, but this year there is a possibility of record passengers coming.
The most comforting thing is the Kedarnath walkway, which has returned to its old glory after eight years of disaster. Dhabas and shops are removing the desolation of the past several years, while the atmosphere of the road looks like before the disaster. This time from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham, the passengers do not have to worry about food, drink and small and big necessities on foot. Shops are open on the way just a short distance from Gaurikund Ghoda Pad. Whereas, apart from Cheerbasa, Junglechatti, Bhimbali, Choti Lincholi, Badi Lincholi, Rudra Point, Base Camp, local people are operating small shops in vacant places.
Travelers will get a lot of benefits from these shops. For eight years after the disaster, people dependent on the yatra were sitting unemployed on one side, but this yatra has given good employment to many local people. The local people and traders are also very excited by this.
In many places, travelers are buying their favorite things, while the most felt lemonade is now being found in many places on the walkway. Overall, the view which was visible before the disaster of Kedarnath walkway, is slowly returning to the same old track. Even when it rains, travelers are feeling a great relief by staying for some time in the dhabas and shops on the way.
