Chardham Yatra 2022: Heli companies started arriving for Kedarnath Yatra, pilgrims arriving in large numbers

Heli companies have started reaching Kedar Ghati for the second phase of Kedarnath Yatra. For the last three days, services are being provided by three companies from different helipads of Kedar Ghati to Dham. A good number of passengers are arriving daily for tickets at the office counters of heli companies. Other companies are also expected to arrive from September 10. A total of 93,335 passengers have reached Kedarnath by helicopter since the opening of the doors of Baba Kedar Yatra.

Nine helicopters of eight companies had started services in the Kedarnath Yatra that began on May 6 this year. By the beginning of the rainy season, more than 91 thousand pilgrims had reached the Dham. Due to the rain, helicopters of seven companies had returned till June 30, while a helicopter of the Himalayan company continued to serve for Kedarnath throughout the rainy season. At the same time, heli companies have also started returning to Kedar Ghati. Two days ago, helicopters of Chipson and Arrow Heli Aviation started flying for Kedarnath.

Here, Kedarnath Yatra Helicopter Service Nodal Officer and District Adventure Sports and Tourism Officer Sushil Nautiyal said that other heli companies are also expected to reach Kedar Ghati by September 10. He has appealed to the passengers to come on the journey according to the schedule of online booking.

There was a decrease in the number of pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Yatra when the monsoon season started, but gradually the monsoon season is ending. In such a situation, once again the number of pilgrims coming on the yatra has started increasing. Heli services flying to Kedarnath Dham in the monsoon season will also come to Kedar Ghati by September 10. Nine heli services run to Dham, out of which eight heli services went back in the monsoon season. In the monsoon season, most of the travelers were reaching for the darshan of Baba Kedar by climbing 18 km on foot. Now Kedar has started returning to the city once again. The number of pilgrims reaching Dham has now reached between four and five thousand every day. Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that after the end of the monsoon season, the number of passengers is increasing. The damaged walkway has also been repaired. Heli services will also reach in eight to ten days.
