With about 1 month left for the Chardham Yatra to start, newly elected Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday took data on the preparations for this Chardham yatra 2022 and guided the officials to make good use of technology to make the yatra safe and smooth.
Chardham Yatra is starting on May 3, 2022. The doors of Yamunotri temple located in the Himalayas of Uttarkashi district will open on this day. It has been expected that a huge no. of devotees will reach the Chardham after the restrictions imposed due to covid have been removed completely now. The COVID pandemic has made a massive impact on the Chardham Yatra in the past 2 years.
Dhami, who reviewed the preparations for the yatra along with Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, Badrinath-Kedarnath Mandir Samiti president Ajendra Ajay and several senior officials, said a large number of pilgrims are expected to visit the Himalayan temples this year and, therefore, the arrangements must be made accordingly.
Heavy machines should be kept on standby for an immediate opening of roads in case of any roadblocks or disruptions of any kind in the route, CM Dhami said.
As a large number of pilgrims are expected this year, there should not be any chaos, traffic situation, or mismanagement, he said.
CM Dhami also guided officials to ensure that Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Hemkund Sahib get a 24-hour power supply.
Optimum use of technology should be made for pilgrimage management such as the use of drones for traffic management during the Chardham yatra and the issuance of a toll-free number for pilgrims to give them all the required information related to the yatra, CM Dhami said.
