Kedarnath is one of the most important temples of Hinduism. It is located at an elevation of 3583mt above sea level on the banks of the Mandakini river near the Chorabadi glacier in Uttarakhand. The Kedarnath temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India and has its importance since the Mahabharata period. Kedarnath is one of the four major sites in the Chota Char Dham shrine of India in the northern Himalayas of Uttarakhand.
