About Ralam dhura pass
Ralam dhura pass, the toughest trek of kumaon region. Also known as sipu pass by local people who are traveling from dharma valley to ralam valley.it is located in uttarakhand, in pithoragarh district of kumaon region
The trek starts from munsiyari which is a beautifull hillstation in pithoragarh district of uttrakhand. It is 10-12 days trek. On the way to ralam dhura pass you will cross two high altitudes and three strile snowy glaciers- kalabalan glacier, sutela glacier, yangchar glacier. You will get to see some beautiful valleys and steep ascents at some places through the journey.
Ralam glacier
Ralam glacier is delightful himalyan glacier in munsiyari tehsil of pithoragarh district of uttarakhand, located near Ralam dhura at Ralam khal in kumaon region, with an altitude of 3900 mtrs. A river called Ralam river flows from ralam glacier and then merge with Gori Ganaga river. Ralam glacier is divided into 2 parts- upper ralam , lower ralam. It is 15 km from munsiyari.

History of ralam dhura pass
As per records, in 1950 ralam dhura pass was crossed for the first time by a Scottish himalyan tour from ralam side. And in 2005, mr Krishnan kutty and his team crossed ralam dhura pass from dharma side.
How to reach ralam dura pass
Day 1: your place to munsiyari
- Reach munsiyari by your own vehicle
- By train: from your place to Dehradun
From Dehradun take a cab or by bus to munsiyari.

Day2: MUNNSIYARI – PATON VILLAGE (7KMS )
- Use vehicle from munsiyari to chilamdhar.
- Start your trek from chilamdhar.
- Paton is the village that come across the trek.
DAY 3: PATON VILLAGE – LUNGRIANI (11KM)
- Highest altitude- 2300mtrs
- Lungriani is alluring place with captivated ralam river flowing alongside it.
DAY 4: LUNGRIANI – KILLADUM (10KM)
- Highest altitude- 3290 mtrs.
- Most challenging trek.
- Altitude gain of about 1000 m.
- A place full of greenery and a land full of flowers.
DAY 5: KILLADUM – RALAM VILLEGE (8KM)
- Highest altitude- 3640 mtrs.
- During winters ralam village remain covered with snow.
- Last village of trek.
- Camping there can be one of the highlight of the trek.
DAY 6: RALAM VILLAGE – RALAM GLACIER (9KM)
- Highest altitude- 3900 mtrs.
- Main himalyan glacier in Uttarakhand.
- People also take a short version of ralam dhura pass trek by returning back from Ralam glacier.
DAY 7: RALAM GLACIER – YANKCHURI BASE CAMP (10KM)
- Highest altitude- 4250 mtrs.
- Steep climbing to yankchuri base camp.
- Impressive view of mountain peak of danghtal, nanda bhanar, nanda kot, kuchela dhura.
DAY 8: YANKCHURI BASE CAMP – RALAM DHURA BASE CAMP (6KM)
- Highest altitude- 5250 mtrs.
- You have to cross yankchur dhurra pass to reach ralam dhura base camp.
- Descent towards Yankchuri glacier.
- From top of the pass, mountain peakl of Nanda devi, Nandakot, Burphu dhura looks so gripping.
- After lot of ascents and descents you will reach ralam dhura base camp.
DAY 9: RALAM DHURA BASE CAMP – RALAM DHURA PASS – NIPAKCHUNG VALLEY (10KM)
- Highest altitude- 5630 mtrs.
- Start 10 km descent to Nipakchung valley.
- Camp at Nipakchung meadow.
DAY 10: NIPAKCHUNG VALLEY – DANTU VILLAGE (16KM)
- Highest altitude- 3440 mtrs.
- Return journey by descending to Dantu village.
- Dantu is a beautiful small village with panchachuli peak in background.
- Night stay in Dantu village.
DAY 11: DANTU – DHARCHULA
- Reach Dharchula by road.
DAY 12: DHARCHULA TO KATHGODAM
