Chardham Yatra is going to make a new record, so far so many lakh people have visited Baba
Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is moving towards making a new record. Compared to the year 2019, this time in just one and a half months, two-thirds of the pilgrims have reached Char Dham. So far 22.50 lakh pilgrims have visited, while more than 32 lakh pilgrims have registered.

Increasing number of pilgrims
Now the number of devotees in the yatra has started returning to normal. The number of pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra is increasing continuously. According to the report of the tourism department, two-thirds of the pilgrims visited this pilgrimage season so far in a period of one and a half months as compared to 2019.
In the year 2019, 34. 84 lakhs came to Chardham
In the year 2019, the highest number of 34.84 lakh passengers had come in the Chardham Yatra, which was a record compared to the earlier journeys. The Chardham Yatra was affected in 2020 and 2021 due to the Kovid epidemic.

A limited number of travelers came between Corona for two years
To prevent corona infection, 3.33 lakh passengers had reached Chardham in 2020 and more than five lakh in 2021 amid restrictions. Harish Gaur, media in-charge of Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee said that since the beginning of Chardham Yatra, 22.50 lakh pilgrims have visited.
In this, 7.82 lakh pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham, 7.44 lakh in Kedarnath Dham, 3.94 lakh in Gangotri and 3.03 lakh in Yamunotri Dham. Apart from this, 1.14 lakh devotees visited Hemkund Sahib. New system started for the first time.

In order to provide better health facilities to the pilgrims in the Chardhams, for the first time, the Health Department started health screening at nine places on the Yatra routes. 30 doctors were trained for treatment for adverse effects on health due to cold and lack of oxygen in high altitude areas.
Apart from this, 12 doctors were deployed for cardiology training for heart patients. This time 178 doctors were deployed in travel duty as compared to 107 medical officers as compared to 2019.
