Naag devta temple is located at the centre of Barsu village in Uttarkashi, Naag Devta refers to the ‘snake god’. The temple is 23km away from the district headquarters bhatwari and 45 kms away from uttarkashi. The place where naagdevta temple is situated i.e, Barsu is famous for DAYARA BUGYAL.

-Atlast the naag devta mandir that is in route to dayara bugyal . The naag devta mandir is in the middle of barsu village. NAAG DEVTA are quite common in himalayas specially in garhwal and kumaun. This temple here in barsu is painted in red and yellow colour.

HOW TO REACH NAAG DEVTA TEMPLE, BARSU-
BY BUS- If you are from Delhi, you can take a bus to Dehradun or to Rishikesh. Then from there you can book or rent a taxi/bus to Uttarkashi.
-Then after that again you have to book a taxi/bus to Barsu village that is 45km away from Uttarkashi.
BY TRAIN- You can book your train tickets from delhi to dehradun and after you reach dehradun then you have to follow the same process as of bus. You’ll find a bus from railway station to uttarkashi.
BY PLANE-
If you are willing to come through plane then from delhi airport the plane will drop you to dehradun airport jollu grant ,that is near rishikesh then can book a taxi’s from OLA/UBER or you’ll also find some local taxi or auto drivers there. You can book/rent them till dehradun ISBT/Rispana/Dehradun railway station .
From these places you can find the bus or taxi’s to uttarkashi. The route to barsu is given below;

-Dayara bugyal is a famous place to explore in barsu. There is a famous trek to dayara bugyal in barsu . People comes from different places around the globe to explore this beautiful scenic place.
-Between december to february this place is usually covered in a sheath of snow and it starts melting in early summers. So it depends on your choice if you like to see mountains in snow, or in pure greenary.

TRAVEL TIP-
You’ll need to carry heavy winter clothes here in barsu when it’s winter season. In winter season the temperature sometimes goes below 0 (zero)degree celcius. And if you are planning to trek to dayara bugyal then it may go beyond -5degree celcius.
if you are planning to trek then you should carry these things:
- Wind proof jackets are an absolute necessity.
- Atleast 1 ltr of water botlle is a necessity to prevent yourself from dehydration.
- Carry atleast 2 packets of ORS (oral rehydration solutions) or a packet of glucose.
- A good pair of running shoe or `trekking shoe’.
- Basic medicine like paracetamol or one of its supplement and a first aid kit is an absolutely necessity in case of an unwanted accident or misshappening.
In summers you’ll only have to carry an extra thin jacket. If are not planning to trek to `dayara bugyal’ a thin jacket should be enough.
-Do carry heavy jackets during winters and in summers you don’t need the heavy ones.
