How to do registration for Chardham Yatra in 2023?
As per the Uttarakhand govt (SOP guidelines for Char Dham yatra), dated 06 Oct 2021, the pilgrims don’t need to do registration for the Yatra e-pass. On the Uttarakhand govt website, registration over the smart City portal is required which can be done online at www.smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in
Latest Char Dham yatra registration updates for 2023
- There will be no limit on the number of Chardham Yatra tourists.
- Chardham Yatra ePass is not compulsory now for tourists.
- For Commercial and private vehicles, a Green Card/ Trip Chart Permit from the Uttarakhand transport department is mandatory, which can be done at https://greencard.uk.gov.in
Till the time of the Kedarnath disaster (the year 2014), the Uttarakhand government had proposed Photometric/ Biometric Registration of all the devotees, who are visiting the Uttarakhand in the Char Dham Yatra season. It was enforceable by issuing the Biometric cards after the registration.
Now in 2023, for Chardham Yatra, it is mandatory to issue an e-Pass before commencing the yatra. Yatra ePass, a tourist can get after doing online/ offline registration.

Chardham Yatra Registration on Smart City Portal (not e-pass) is mandatory for all the tourists who are planning to go for Chardham yatra 2023.
After the registration for Char Dham yatra 2023, each of the visitors can be tracked with a GPS-based monitoring system so that tourist flow can be checked for a particular spot/Dham and this can be helpful to plan their journey safely. The facility for food and lodging can be avail using Chardham Yatra Registration Card.
