ABOUT CHOTA CHARDHAM
Chota Chardham is a Uttarakhand Chardham which is located in the Himalayas in the Garhwal region of state Uttarakhand. Chota Chardham is the 4 main pilgrimages of Uttarakhand first is Yamunotri second is Gangotri, third is Kedarnath, & fourth is Badrinath. The temple remains close in the winter season and it opens in the month of May and it will close in the month of October – November.
WHAT IS CHOTA CHARDHAM YATRA?
Yatra means when devotee started their journey to visit Chardham pilgrimages (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath) in Uttarakhand we called it Chota Chardham yatra.
Thousand of people come to Uttarakhand from a different-different state and also from outside of India for visiting Uttarakhand Chardham because it is the ancient Hindu holy place.
People are always very excited to visit Uttarakhand for Char Dham yatra because this holy place is located in Himalaya valley which is surrounded by beautiful valleys, beautiful rivers, and amazing mountains. people love to see this yatra.
CHOTA CHARDHAM YATRA ROUTE
This yatra is started from the west and ends in the east which means the yatra starts from Yamunotri and ends in Badrinath. Chota Chardham yatra is the most sacred yatra in Uttarakhand, especially for the Hindu religion. It starts in the month of May and ends near the Deepawali festival.
Most people prefer to start this yatra from Dehradun. Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand. Because it is very easy to find different types of convenience.

Yamunotri to Gangotri 227 km (7.5hrs)

PLACE OF PILGRIMAGE
1. YAMUNOTRI
Yamunotri is the 1st Chota Chardham of Uttarakhand, where the holy river Yamuna starts. The temple of holy place Yamunotri was originally constructed by Maharaj Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. There are three hot springs near the temple. Yamunotri temple is located at a height of 3185 meters.
2. GANGOTRI
Gangotri is also the most important Chota Chardham of Uttarakhand because Gangotri is the source of the Ganga river which is the holiest river of the Hindu religion. Some scriptures say that Gangotri is a place where the Ganga comes from. Gangotri is situated at a height of 3048 meters.
3. KEDARNATH
Kedarnath is the most worshipped Chota Chardham of Uttarakhand because here the lord shiva has done Tapasya that is why lots of people come to Kedarnath temple to worship Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is also one of the 12 jyotirlingas of lord shiva and the origin of the Kedarnath temple can be found in Mahabharata. Kedarnath is situated at a height of 3581 meters.
4. BADRINATH
Badrinath is one of the most popular visited Chota Chardham of Uttarakhand. This is the place where people worship Lord Vishnu. It’s is the holy place of Hindu & Jain religion. Badrinath temple is situated near the holy river Alaknanda.
