All about Kainchi Dham Ashram, Nainital
The Kainchi Dham Ashram is the only ashram in the Nainital hill station located at the height of 1400 meters above sea level on Nainital-Almora road. The word Kainchi is derived from the Hindi word “कैंची”. Kainchi is a scissor-like shape that cuts and crosses each other. This ashram is between the two hills and it is the major attraction among the visitors.
Kainchi Dham is a famous Hanuman temple and also an Ashram of Nainital. The founder of this ashram is Neem Karoli Baba. This holy place was established in the year 1964. It is heaven for people as one can feel calm and filled with positive vibes.
The idea to build this ashram came in the year 1962. Shri Poornanand of kainchi village with saint Neem Karoli proposed to build an ashram dedicated to sombari maharaj and sadhu premi baba on this place. In 1962, the forest was cleared from this place and the forest conservator gave a green signal to construct Kainchi Dham Ashram on this place.
Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli Baba Ashram is full of miracles. It is believed that if you visit here with a wish, you will not be returned with an empty hand. The devotees of Neem Karoli Baba claim that he attained siddhis after worshiping lord hanuman. People consider him as an incarnation of lord hanuman but baba Neem Karoli was a very simple person he had a very simple life and even he did not allow anyone to touch his feet. Every year on 15th June many of his devotees come from all around the world to celebrate a foundation day and also take blessings of Hanumanji. There are 108 ashrams of Neem Karoli baba in the world. The largest ashrams are Kainchi Dham in Nainital of India, and also Tous Ashram in the New Mexico City of USA. Many celebrities like PM Modi, Julia Roberts, Steve Jobs, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg are also devotees of Neem Karoli Baba. You will be surprised to hear that a one-day miracle happened during free meal distribution arranged in the temple by the devotees of Neem Karoli Baba. It is said that during meal preparation there was a shortage of ghee and baba Neem Karoli was instructed to bring water from the river flowing near his Kainchi Dham. When the water was used in making meals the water converted into ghee and from then Kainchi Dham Ashram was known for various miracles.
