Rishikesh: Chardham Yatra 2022: The crowd of devotees who have reached Rishikesh for Char Dham darshan does not take the name of diminishing. Devotees were present outside the registration center from 3 am on Wednesday. 2100 slots for Char Dham and 300 for Badrinath Dham have been made available for Darshan. But a crowd of about 4000 devotees was seen waiting for their turn on the spot.
Additional police force has been deployed here since Wednesday to control the crowd of devotees at Bus Terminal Compound Rishikesh, Chardham Yatra’s main center of operations. Barricading was put up on Tuesday night itself to make a line at the registration counter. Along with this, about 40 feet additional tents have been arranged for the devotees. To get priority in registration, the devotees had camped here at night and slept. The queue started here from three in the morning. While the registration opened at eight in the morning.
Offline registration is being done by SDRF. SDRF in-charge sub-inspector Kavinder Singh Sajwan said that 2100 persons for Char Dham Darshan and 300 persons for Ek Dham Badrinath Darshan will be provided registration on the basis of slot. Police Field Superintendent Kamlesh Upadhyay said other police forces were deployed here to control the crowds in the morning. According to Deputy District Magistrate Shailendra Singh Negi, barricading has been put up outside the registration counter on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. Additional tents have been arranged over the devotees to protect them from the sun. He expressed the hope that except Kedarnath Dham at the government level, the slots can be increased for three Dhams.
Devotees whose slots are available till June 10 in online registration are being sent on behalf of the administration. Buses have been arranged by the Joint Rotation and Transport Corporation. With the help of social organizations, free lunch and evening service is being provided to the devotees in the bus stand compound. Along with this water is also being distributed regularly to them.
