Know all about Namik Glacier Trek 

Namik Glacier is a beautiful glacier in the Himalayas of Kumaon Garhwal. This glacier appears to be very calm. There are large Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, and Trishul around the Namik glacier. Attractive and glamorous to see, tourists also come to visit the Namik Glacier.  

Namik Glacier is one of the most tranquil areas in the world, in its trek you can see green grasslands, waterfalls, beautiful snow-clad peaks, and other scenic things, which makes this trek even more beautiful. On the way to the Namik Glacier trek, you will also follow Ramganga Nandi.   

The trek is very long, starting from Bageshwar and exiting Munsiyari town. If you start the trek from Munsiyari town, you will have to walk for 40 kilometers to reach Namik Glacier.  On the way before reaching Namik Glacier, you have to pass between Namik village and Gogina village.  During the Namik Glacier trek, you will see nothing but greenery and the snow-covered Himalayas, which mesmerize you.   

Here you will enjoy the old culture of Uttarakhand, which is still adopted by the people here.  The road to Namik Glacier passes through the trade route between India and Tibet. Such beautiful and attractive scenery will be seen only in Uttarakhand, from where you will not feel like coming out at all. Who would not like to go to the scenes that mesmerize it.  

 Away from the human settlement created by nature, you will hardly see this scene anywhere. Such scenes are composed by nature itself, if the man tries to play with such scenes, then nature also sometimes comes in its terrible form, and takes the form of destruction. Due to which the human settlement is also harmed. But it would be better if humans do not tamper with nature. 

How to reach: 

To reach Namik Glacier, you will have to walk from Bageshwar but how you will reach Bageshwar we will tell you- 

1.By road: If you are coming from Delhi, then you can catch any bus from Delhi to Uttarakhand. After that, you can reach by bus via Almora, Haldwani, and Nanital. You can also book a taxi to reach Bageshwar. 

  1. By Train: Kathgodam railway station located in Nainital is closest to Bageshwar. The distance from Kathgodam to Bageshwar is 154 kilometers.  Then you can easily book a bus or taxi and reach Bageshwar. 

By Air: Pantnagar Airport in Udhamsingh Nagar is the closest to Bageshwar.  The distance from Pantnagar to Bageshwar is 180 km. You will easily get buses and taxis from Pantnagar to reach Bageshwar. 

Difficulty: To reach Namik Glacier from Bageshwar, one has to walk 40 km.  So, for this trek and walk, you must have experienced this trek p beforehand.  Because the whole trek pr will see icy mountains all around you.  Prior experience is required to walk on such treks.  And sometimes the monsoon winds are very strong here which can also prove to be dangerous. 

Best season for trekking: April June September November
