Borasu Pass is one of the high mountains pass which is encompassed by the lovely and majestic Himalayan peak and Dense Forests with enchanted wildlife. The Borasu pass trek starts with Har ki doon Ganga and ends with Baspa river. It is located at an altitude of 5450 meters. It is said that in ancient times this was the trade route between Har ki doon and Kinnaur Valley. This is one of the less explored regions in Himalayas.

Borasu Pass Trek is one of the least explored treks in Uttarakhand. Starting from Har ki doon Ganga it ends with Baspa River. Borasu Pass trek provides a panoramic view of snow-capped mountains and is one of the best ways to explore the beauty of Garhwal region with breath taking and mesmerizing view. The trekking distance is approx. 33 kilometres from Sankri.
Mythology about Borasu Pass:
According to the local people of Sankri, the Borasu Pass is considered as sacred and is valley of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. According to some other mythological facts it is also believed that the Pandavas went to swarg i.e., Heaven through this valley only.

How to reach Borasu Pass:
The base camp for this pass is Sankri village of Uttarkashi region. Below are some few ways to reach Sankri through different modes of transportation-
By Air: The nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun which is approx. 240kms far from Sankri, the base camp. After landing at Dehradun further journey is done by roadways.
By Train: Dehradun is the closest railways (Nandadevi Express, Dehradun Express etc) to this trek and further distance is covered by roadways.
By Road: Direct Bus can be catched to Sankri from Mussoorie, Dehradun or directly book a taxi to Sankri Village.
Borasu Pass Trek route:
The trek route of the famous lake is as follows
Day 1 Pickup from Dehradun/ Chandigarh to Sankri village and stay in Sankri Hotel (185 kms)
Day 2 Starting from Sankri Village to Taluka Seema and overnight stay in tents or at Poani Gharat (5-6 hrs)
Day 3 Starting trek from Taluka Seema to Har ki Dun and overnight stay in tents (4-5 hrs)
Day 4 Starting from Har ki dun to Ratha Tho and overnight stay in tents (4-5 hrs)
Day 5 Starting from Ratho Tho to Borasu Pass base camp and overnight stay in tents (3-4 hrs)
Day 6 Starting from Borasu Pass base camp to Bonga (7-8 hrs).
Day 7 Travelling from Bonga to Chitkul (7-8 hrs)
The last day of the Borasu pass trek starts with an easy downhill walk and overnight stay in hotel in Sankri Village.
