About Kedarnath
Kedarnath is one of holy ancient temple realted to Lord Shiva, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. The location is near the Mandakini river and at a height of 3, 584 meters. The temple attracts a million of visitors during the Chardham yatra, took place every year.
The shrine of the temple opens in late April and closed in the month of November. If anyone wants to visit the temple, he can reach mainly through the trek route or by helicopter service. Gaurikund is the last road head to reach temple, from where the trek route is 16 km. Kedarnath does not have any railway or aiport. So, the closest airport to the temple is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun and the closest railway station is in Rishikesh.

Weather Conditions in Kedarnath Area
Kedarnath temple opens only for 6 months of the year, from April to November. The other 6 months it remains closed. The best time you can visit is from May to June or September to October.
During summer, the temperature in the region varies from 10°C to 20° C. During winter, due to cold weather conditions, the temple remains closed from November to March. During monsoon, it is recommended to avoid the visit because the area is prone to floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall conditions.

- Only BSNL and Jio sim network works in the area.
- Carry cash with you. Don’t depend upon online payment system in the hilly region.
- The best time to visit is during summer or pre-winter. You can plan to visit from May to June or September to October.

- Carry extra power batteries, raincoat, medical kit and some instant energy boosters with you.
