You should opt for sweatproof and the right size of socks. Your bag pack should be packed very wisely. Important things should not be missed but sideways you also need to keep in mind the weight of your bag.
- You should wisely choose the items to bring with you and choose lightweight objects as you have to always keep your bag pack on your back. Important things are a rope, raincoat, winds heaters, water bottle, waterproof bag, extra pair of shoes and clothes and most importantly your camera within which you will bring lots of memories and experiences with you. The bag pack should be with adjustable chest and waist strips so that you can adjust the weight. Another thing is walking poles which assist you with inclinations and ease the load on thighs and legs.
4. A Beautiful Camping Site: –
- The name literally means the throat of lord Shiva (Kadar refers to Lord Shiva and Kantha means Throat) “He is the DESTROYER of the universe only to recreate it, Lord Shiva.”
- It is a five-day-long trek starting from a Sankri-named village located 200 km away from Dehradun. There is the summit with a stone sheeted shrine of Lord Shiva and a Trishul is planted near the base of the shrine.
- In view of history, Lord Shiva sat at the summit to meditate but was disturbed by a bull, which was running around. So, to proceed with meditation he went to Kedarnath.
- Another myth regarding Keda Kantha is related to Pandavas. They went to the Himalayas to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings and to pardon their sins of killings millions of people in Mahabharat Yudh. But Shiva was angry with them and avoided them by taking the form of a bull and hiding from Pandavas and leaving for the Garhwal region. But Bheema recognized him and went after him. So Shiva hid underground. And when he rushed from that place, he divided his body parts and each part fell at different places and out of which his throat fell at Keda Kantha thus the name of the place. Later the bull reappeared in the form of Lord Shiva at five different places, the bull’s hump at Kedarnath, legs at Tungnagh, face at Rudra Nath, stomach at Madhyama Eshwar, and hair at Kalpeshwar and it is believed that Pandavas built five temples on these place
5. Places to Stay Around: –

- In the immense beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas, lies the Keda Kantha peak located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It lies close to Har ki Din Valley in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary.
- To reach Sankri village one has to take the bus from Dehradun which takes around 10 hours to reach. After starting the trek from Sankri usually the next morning after reaching Sankri lies a Juda ka Talab -camp at 4km and after another 4 km lies a base camp and thereafter is the ultimate beauty and divine place Keda Kantha at 3 km. And one can seek shelter at various resorts located nearby along the trek on the way. Keda Kantha is one of the most popular treks in Uttarakhand due to its relative ease of access and gradual inclination.
