ITBP Prepares For Disaster Response for Char Dham Yatra

The ITBP has made huge preparations and set up 7 RRCs for the Char Dham Yatra, which began on May 3 for the first time in two years without any COVID limitations.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has made tremendous preparations and set up seven Regional Response Centres (RRCs) to enable pilgrimage movement and respond to any natural calamities as the Char Dham Yatra began on May 3, the first in two years without any COVID restrictions. It’s worth noting that, due to the weakening of the Covid issue, the administration anticipates a large number of Pilgrims this year.

Vivek Kumar Pandey, a spokesperson for the ITBP, remarked that they are the first responders to any natural disaster. “ITBP has established seven disaster response centers in the Himalayan region.

ITBP is on high alert in case of a disaster.
Rainfall in steep areas greatly increases the risk of landslides. “There are teams in contact with the district administration and the NDRF to carry out landslide rescue operations or to perform air rescue operations. We have standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place to deal with any unforeseen circumstances “According to a representative for the ITBP.

ITBP, according to Vivek Kumar Pandey, has participated in a number of rescue operations and saved the lives of thousands of people. ITBP evacuated and saved the lives of 48 individuals during three rescue operations in the Himalayan range in 2022. In recent years, the ITBP has undertaken over 200 search and rescue missions.

This year’s Char Dham Yatra is free of COVID-19 limitations, to the point where neither a COVID negative test report nor a vaccination certificate is required by the government.
