Ukhimath was also written as okhimath or ushamath is at a distance of 40 km from chopta, its a small town and winter home to lord Kedarnath and lord Madhya Maheshwar.
Omkareshwar temple:
It is an ancient temple where lord Kedarnath and lord Madhyamaheshwar are worshiped in winter when the temples are closed for 6 months. It is believed that the holy marriage of Usha( daughter of Banasur) and Anirudh(grandson of Lord Krishna) happened here.
