Chardham Yatra is about to start on May 3, 2022. But, the road conditions and preparations are still not completed to welcome the tourists coming from outside of Uttarakhand. Pilgrims who will board buses will hesitate after seeing the road condition in the Rishikesh ISBT area, the gateway of the Yatra. Actually, the ISBT-Chandrabhaga bridge link road which is connecting to Chardham Yatra Bus Terminal Compound to Badrinath Highway is in pathetic condition.
The 2km long link road has been affected in many places due to a lack of repairs and maintenance. Where the road was fine, it has been dug up by pipeline work. After this situation, the Garhwal Commissioner has directed to repair the roads of the Chardham Yatra route before the end of the month, but the responsible department has not taken an action over this scenario.
