about Haridwar Darshan

Haridwar, or the 'portal to gods,' is one of India's holiest pilgrimages, situated where the Ganga, the most sacred of all Indian rivers, meets the Indo-Gangetic plains. Haridwar, located in the Himalayan foothills, is a city of temples and ashrams with a devout atmosphere that envelopes everyone. Every 12 years, the Kumbh Mela, a religious gathering of millions of Hindu devotees, takes place in Haridwar, one of four sacred Indian towns. Every six years, the Ardh Kumbh is held here. Every year during the rainy season, it also hosts the Kanwar Mela but because of the Covid Pandemic, the Kanwar Yatra was closed by the Uttarakhand Government.

Haridwar is an old city with strong roots in ancient Vedic culture and customs. There are several licensed Ayurvedic clinics in Haridwar that you may visit if you want to learn more about the traditional treatment practices. Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga sessions are also available in ashrams. The Ganga aarti, which attracts devotees and visitors, takes place every morning and evening on the Ghats (stepped sides of a river).
